Chico, CA — Today James Gallagher’s campaign for State Assembly announced that Gallagher has earned the endorsements of two of the largest statewide agricultural organizations; the California Farm Bureau Federation and the California Rice Industry Association.

“Growing up on a farm gave James Gallagher a firsthand understanding of how important agriculture is to the Sacramento Valley,” CFBF President Paul Wenger said. “He has dedicated himself as an advocate for farmers and small business owners—a perspective that’s crucial to maintain in the state Legislature.”

California Rice Industry Association Chair Frank Rehermann echoed that sentiment.

“We are proud to endorse James Gallagher for State Assembly,” said Rehermann. “James is not only a fellow grower — he’s also a well respected leader who is committed to protecting our agricultural heritage in the North State.”

The California Rice Industry Association represents the 2,500 family rice farmers and handlers who farm and process rice produced in California by engaging in a range of comprehensive regulatory, research and education programs. The California Farm Bureau Federation works to protect family farms and ranches on behalf of more than 78,000 members statewide and as part of a nationwide network of more than 6.2 million Farm Bureau members.

Gallagher is a Sutter County Supervisor and a member of a long-standing farming family in Sutter County. As a Supervisor and an agricultural attorney, he has championed property rights, protection of our ag-based economy and limited government. He has worked hard on important regional issues including levee repair and flood control.
