Oroville, CA –Today James Gallagher announced receiving the endorsements of Butte County Sheriff Jerry Smith and Glenn County Sheriff Larry Jones in his campaign for the 3rd Assembly District. Gallagher now has the endorsements of five of the six local Sheriffs in his campaign for State Assembly, making him the overwhelming choice of local law enforcement.

“As a County Supervisor, James has the experience and knowledge necessary to be an effective leader on public safety issues for our North State communities,” said Butte County Sheriff Jerry Smith. “He understands the challenges our Sheriff’s Departments are facing and I am confident he will fight for the tools we need to protect our families and our communities.”

Glenn County Sheriff Larry Jones added, “James has always put public safety over politics. In the State Assembly, he will be a strong ally of law enforcement and work tirelessly to increase the safety of our communities.”

Sheriff Smith and Sheriff Jones add their names to Gallagher’s list of endorsements that already includes Yuba County Sheriff Stephen Durfor, Colusa County Sheriff Scott Marshall and Sutter County Sheriff J. Paul Parker.

Gallagher is a Sutter County Supervisor and a member of a long-standing farming family in Sutter County. As a Supervisor and an agricultural attorney, he has championed property rights, protection of our ag-based economy, public safety and limited government. He has worked hard on important regional issues including levee repair and flood control.
